TO30 Governor springs

Hello to everyone,

Are the two springs on the TO30 governor the same?
Here's why I'm asking:
There are two springs, the governor compensating spring and the governor spring.
Ytmag sells the compensating spring but there is no mention of a governor spring.
I have John(UK)'s write up on the governor and he says "The Governor springs should need 18 - 20 lbs weight to stretch the spring by 1"..."
It sort of sounds from that statement the springs are the same. But looking at the springs on the tractor, they look different (maybe that's why the governor doesn't work :)
I've misplaced John(UK)'s email address to ask him.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

Compensator Spring, 181 535 M1 hooks onto waterneck #21 in parts book. Plunger to Lever Spring, 180 088 M1 #25 in Parts Book. They certainly are made different.

Pic of the springs- The squared off ended one goes to the governor rod, the rod that runs vertically. That spring's still available from AGCO.

That whole compensator spring affair is about as worthless as it can get. Looks good, works lousy!! On every Ferguson I own from the 20 to the 40, (five of them) the throttle will not stay wide open. New friction discs, with the pressure spring squeezed up on it as tight as it will go, and the danged thing still slides up. I've tried everything from a rubber disc rather than cork, and everything in between. On my 20, I finally put on a slider that bolts onto the dash and goes under the throttle lever like a Ford. Anybody ever find a better fix for this. Sorry for the rant, but I just couldn't help myself!!!!
