TO 20 oil filters revisited again

So ya'll were freaking me out 'cause I bought a Sp@rex filter for my TO20 and the board's opinion was that the AGCO filter was the one to get. Tom posted some good pictures of the different filters in this thread- http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?t=1018370
So I ordered a #830910 M91, which is the number I have in my parts book, from an AGCO dealer and this is what I got (on the left-Sp@rex on the right)

I just looked at Jason's pic, and it has part # 830910 M92.
Is that the number I need, or will the larger filter they shipped me be OK?
:? Confused again,
BillL

Agco owns Sparex. This is where they get there parts. If you look close there will times when you order Sparex it will come in a Agco package. Same thing.

[b:4313a82c2b]True, that.[/b:4313a82c2b]

[b:4313a82c2b]Where AGCO gets their parts? Sparex literature states "All Parts are Sparex Parts and are not Manufactured by the Original Equipment Manufacturer."

So then AGCO reboxes Sparex products?
I'm not trying to be argumentative, I don't quite understand what you're saying.

I'm just trying to find the best filter for my TO20, which is the AGCO filter from what I've read here. But the AGCO I received doesn't look at all like the one I got from Sparex, or the ones posted in the link. I don't want to install the wrong part and mess up a fresh rebuild, but I don't want to throw away a $20 (with freight) part if I can use it.
Thanks,
BillL

The filter you ordered will work just fine. The 830910M92 is the newest revision of that part, the 830910M91 was it's predecessor. I'm surprised you found the M91 filter, someone must of still had some stock on the shelves. If you want I can post some measurements of the M92 filter. The Sparex filter is the same filter the sell to go in Fords. Yes Agco owns Sparex, are they the same parts or quality as Agco? No!!! Miner said sometimes the Agco part is a reboxed Sparex part which may be true sometimes but all the parts I have gotten from Agco haven't been. To be honest I'm not much on Sparex parts. I tried a set of their points in my TO-20...very poorly made,I had to bend the arm to get the contacts to line up. The Borg Warners I had in there had lasted 3 very hard years and was still working but I decided to give the tractor a tune up. Those Sparex points lasted about three weeks and I pulled them out and currently I am running genuine Delco Remy points because I bought 8 sets of them for $2.32 a set. You can't beat the original stuff. I bought two new seals for my MF 175 when I did the brakes. I bought one seal off of eBay as it was listed as a Massey Ferguson seal. It came in and it was a Sparex seal. I went to my local dealer and they had the Agco seal in stock for $3.00 more and while both seals appeared to be the same they wasn't. The Agco seal was made much better in the lips where it rides on the shaft...which is where it counts!!! I'm not saying don't buy Sparex...but usually the real Agco part is only a few dollars more.

Hey Ark68 you can shoot me an email if you like and I can send pictures if you want of the filter. My email should be open in classic view.
