Hi ya all.

Beeing working on this puppy for a few weeks now. She goes but has nt been serviced since it was bought i recon. I am in a dusty part of QLD, near goondiwindi Australia. Red dust everywhere. Just did the front bearings and the grease has even turned a nice redish dusty colour.

Its an IH 564, 1970, aussie tractor built in Geelong bloody hard to find info about them but have sourced a manual.

I tried the farmall and IH forum here, but there not as friendly as you folk...

Currently rebuilding the rams for the FEL, which is a first for me... :?

Search for >TractorData.com<
There must be manuals for it- or other models with that engine, and op manuals usually cover a couple tractors in the range.
If you got the pic so far as in the thumbnail, just hit 'continue', and it should upload into preview. good luck, sometimes it ain't easy...

Yeah have found a manual for the 554 tractor which is pretty similar. tractor.com has no info and the ones that are on there are listed as mande in Germany..... Not Australia.

Attempt no 37 for uploading photos

Right. So you're still up the gum tree with bloody pics eh?
First adjust the settings on your camera for the fewest bits, this site can not upload big sharp pics anymore. You might need to go out and take new snapshots with a lower setting.
If modern view keeps binding you up, try uploading in 'classic view', I had to do that with my last pics.
It might churn for awhile uploading, but when it shows up in the thumbnail, just click 'continue', add another or go to 'preview', or 'submit' in classic.
You have been on the forum long enough to trust, so it's most likely the pics are over 300K, or... you need more practice... so keep yer chin up, best of British... etc etc...

This site is doing weird things, Cannot edit posts or post photos. trying classic mode. Yup that worked.

Here is the beast

A beast it is ! Another project to keep you busy :) At least there is a little less rust up your way.
If it's any consolation I am having trouble posting photos and editing as well .

I forgot to mention , the rams I had rebuilt for my Ferguson loader used 47.8mm rod , totally unavailable today . The machinist used 50mm rod from a garbage compactor and turned the end caps to suit , all in all a much easier and ultimately cheaper option. It also allowed an opportunity to machine grooves for wiper seals instead of the original O rings .

Aaaaaggghhh.... now that we see it... I wish I never talked you thru posting pictures....
Well, the stripped chassis or sub assemblies and such must have all been 'manufactured' in West Germany, then bolted together at the Australian assembly plant. That was pretty common years ago.
Harry, then Massey, Ferguson did that in Oz and India, South Africa and South America too? and I guess the TEA20-85's in Canada too, a ship full of engines one day, a ship full of arsends shows up another, really, just to save $$$. I'm sure all the bits for one order must have traveled together.
The US shipped jeeps and some other MV's like that in WW2, an assembly depot tore open a wooden crate and all the bits and pieces of a half assembled jeep were- shoulda beeen- in there. Crates and boxes are easier to squish down in the freighter than a complete unit... with all those places air comes along for a free ride...
I wish I could say something nice about your tractor... but I can't think of anything just now....

Have had it out for a test run, cannot wait to but it to some work and see what it can pull, it feels like its got plenty of grunt with a 65 HP motor.

Tony. The chasis is based on IH from
England and the US, and the engine is the AD264 similar to the british BD264. I read that a lot of parts at the time came from pommy land due to trade argreement...

Nice vintage trailer behind it. Those are coming up in value here, but all I have found on farms are worn out from migrant workers living in them.
