Reinstalling Head on TO-20

I recently had to have the head re-built on my TO-20. Now that I have gotten it back I am looking for all the specs needed for the re-install. Is my only option to actually buy the service manual? This is my first attempt at something this in-depth and my dad and father-in-law haven't done one in a number of years. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Yes a service manual would be a good idea. Make sure the gasket is correct for the to20,water bypass hole in gasket if needed. Head is
torqued to 70-75 using the right pattern on the 13 bolts.

I had zero experience when I installed the head on my TO-20, but with the Service Manual and the archives on the YT Board, I was able to get along fine. (So far, so good, anyway.)

When you removed the head, you probably noticed that the nuts on the left side of the head were a little tricky, especially the left front.

They're even trickier to get torqued properly. I got a torque adapter/extension; some folks on the board made one themselves.

Manual also says to lightly coat the gasket in cup grease. I used the short fiber wheel bearing
grease as per John(UK). Make sure your looking at Ft Lbs on the torque wrench and not Newton meters.

You'll never regret buying a shop manual! You will regret going back in because of some simple mistake that
could have been avoided!
