Ignition Problems

I have 12 volts between distributor an coil when points are open an closed. Is this my points or condensor shortrd or both. I have a TEA 20.

12V with points open is normal depending on your coil/resistor. That same 12V should drop with the points closed
because the circuit has been completed to ground thus reducing the voltage. Now if the voltage stays the same with
the points closed I might take a look at the possibility of glazed points to begin with, if not excessively pitted,
worn or burnt. Cap off, crank the engine. You should see spark at the points. No spark? Start looking.

Ok Thank you i will clean points an check for spark an go from there. I want to resolve this issue before i install electronic ignition.

I replaced the wire between coil an distributor an solved the problem

Thank you for your feedback..
