my TO-35 queenie will not start. my test light lights up going into solenoid but it got nuthin coming out. should the light light up where cable attaches to starter? if so it do not.

any ideas?

thanks.

Test light should lite up going into solenoid with key turned as should the cable going to the starter, when the key is turned. Since your light comes on with "A" and not "B", then the solenoid should be the culprit in the middle.

What you want to do is "load test" the system.

Put the test light on the battery side of the solenoid, try the starter.

If the light goes out, there is a connection problem with the battery, or a bad ground, or the battery is discharged or bad.

If the light stays on, move the test point to the starter side. If no power, the solenoid is bad.

If there is power to the starter, and it's not turning, there is a starter problem. Be sure the starter bolts are tight, that's where it gets it's ground.

When using a test light, always make careful observations. Assume nothing! Test the test light to a known hot connection to prove the light is grounded and working. When testing, watch where you are actually testing. Often the cable can be good and the actual connection can be bad. That's the benefit of a test light, you can pinpoint problems without guesswork!
