just a reminder, keep the radiators clean

this time of the year, as we cut the fields off, the debris (grass and weeds) can build up in front of the radiators and get the motor hot.

must watch temp gauge during this time of the year.

a front grill screen is worth its weight in gold.

as I pulled out of one of my fields today, the front grill screen on my TO35 looked like this, attached picture, however, the radiator was almost completely clean.

with no front grill screen, the front of the radiator would have looked like this picture, many times you do not see the debris build up as it is behind the front grill, so you do not clean it off and the motor gets hot.

motor gets hot and the next thing you know, you have the motor smoking or worst yet burning oil.

just a reminder, if you are new to tractors, you must keep the radiators clean,

a front grill screen for your tractor, best money you can spend.

I have used insect screen on one tractor that the tin was missing provisions for the proper screen. The air movement held it in place, I was able to maintain space with something, very crude but it worked great when I had to cut mature golden rod, that stuff will plug a radiator in a very short distance, and is one reason to get the mowing done before thistle, golden rod or any plant will mature and have fuzz like this, + its highly flammable, best to get the cutting done before all that.

The bosses took Fergie up to the company deer property to do some mowing this weekend... We were up there a couple months back, the radiator got clogged up pretty good, but then I was there to make sure it got cleaned.

They're up there without adult supervision this time though, making me a little nervous! LOL
