To30 oil change

As many may know I purchased my grandfathers
TO30. I ordered the service manual as well as the
parts manual.
I have bought the oil filter and it came with 2
gaskets. 1 is flat and the other is a "o" ring.
The books are not clear at all on the location of the
gaskets. The service manual says pull out cartridge
and that's about it. The parts book diagram shows
the flat gasket going in first at the bottom before you
slide in the filter. Nothing is shown for the "o" ring at
all.
What is the sequence? I'm sure it will be obvious
when I take it apart but figured I'd ask first
Please help, John

I'm curious of the sizes of the gaskets?

When I have bought filters for my TO30 (mostly NAPA 1010), they have only come with one large flat gasket that seals the "lid" of the canister to the body of the canister. The oil filters themselves have integrated rubber seals that seal against the tube over which they slide.

At least, this is true if my memory serves right from spring when I last changed the oil.

If I remember wrong you'll then 1000 corrections.

It is a Fram. I know it's not the best but is the
original manufacture p3c I believe. It has 2. One is
an "o" ring I assumed goes in the lid and a flat fiber
one that goes on the bottom by the parts manual
exploded view.

My TO35, 1957 model has a flat washer and a spring inside the oil filter canister.

The spring and washer go in first and hold the oil filter against the side of the block.

Insuring the oil flows through the filter and not around the filter.
