Hi All. I have resurrected my TEA20 project after about a five year hiatus. Thanks to Bob in 'Oz for posting the electronic ignition information. Was able to convert from points in about 10 minutes. Works great and the engine fired up within seconds, like it never shut off. Now on to my next problem...
When hand throttle is in fully closed position, I get a nice idle. There is a little "slop" in the linkage when pulling down, about 3/4". Once I feel it starting to move the throttle, the engine basically goes to full throttle after about 5 seconds even though I have only moved the throttle handle down about 1", with 3/4 of the available travel left to go. I hope that is clear enough. I don't know where to start diagnosing this, a carb problem, a governor problem, or just a linkage adjustment problem. I have done a little searching and haven't found much. If more clarity is needed I can take a video and post it to YouTube. I have no information on setting the linkage. Just cleaned carb, main jet is 1.5 turns out. No trouble starting or idling, runs great, and also runs great at full throttle. There is just no in between, or any gradual throttle increase possible. Thank you!
