after pushing down the clutch I have to wait a bit before putting trans. in gear as the gears clash. I can remedy that by pushing down clutch as I get on the tractor but would rather not have to do that. the idle is bit high. will be adjusting that in the near future. the clutch adj. at the pedal seems to ne ok.
anything else???
thanks.

Try putting the high/low range shifter in neutral first, then try shifting into a gear. Once in gear, then select High/Low range. I find this helps if the tractor has been sitting running in neutral with the clutch up. If you are getting excessive grinding, your pilot bearing may be seizing up or your clutch disk could be sticking.

I find like Dan said, the quickest way to get it to shift with minimal grinding is to shift the H/L lever to neutral and wait a few seconds. It's much easier than to leave it in H or L and wait. This, from what I'm told is just how it is when you have a 2 stage clutch. My 202 with single stage clutch will just go into gear without much fuss.
