TO30 exhaust.

Since I just bought my grandfathers tractor from his estate and got it home I have a few questions. What repair books should I get. I see on this site they offer
the factory service manual. Can someone suggest the name of the repair books I should get? Should this be the first one I should get to
service the tractor. It needs fluid changes and other small repairs. It started right up and seems to run fine. Should I also get a parts book? I
have the owners manual.
Now for a repair question before I order books. It has an exhaust leak where the tailpipe connects to the manifold. It has a car clamp and I
need the original clamp. It also has a soup can wrapped around it to stop the leak somewhat. I have not taken it apart yet but I would think the
tailpipe end has rotted away. Is there a donut in this tailpipe, manifold conection? I do not see any donut available to purchase so I am thinking
the tailpipe is rounded to fit into the manifold. Is this correct?
Thanks, John.

That exhaust uses a 2 piece clamp, the exhaust pipe has a bell on the end. The clamp locks the bell to the manifold flange. Likely you'll need the clamp assy, and a new exhaust pipe. Don't forget the hangers.

I like the I&T Manual. Economical, but covers about everything without getting too technical.

Get a reprint of the owners manual and the shop manual. The I&T manuals tell you just enough to get you in trouble. They do not walk you thru the entire tractor with all of the specs and pictures like the genuine Ferguson shop manual does. A parts manual is a handy thing to have so you can see in what order certain pieces go if you take something apart and can not remember how it goes back together. That exhaust clamp is available at TSC and other places. There is an upside and downside to that clamp. The bigger side goes up. An old farmers trick for leaking exhaust at that joint was to wrap aluminum foil around the joint before installing the clamp.
