FINALLY!!!! Shes Alive!!!

Finally made some progress on the old stubborn coot... Got the bucket off today... What a chore that was... I thought a few times "whoever thought this one up should be shot" I took the rear tires off to gain easier access to the rear loader bolts (on rear axle) That went fine and dandy until I realized the tires were fluid filled.. No idea why is never occurred to me to check something like that first...

I also the shaft off the front of the motor that I have been battling for a few months..
Then came the time to do some wiring, clean the fuel and coolant system.. Its not been ran in years due to the shaft/pump issue.. I finally got it started and I cant believe how well she runs! Smooth right down to a idle.. Just need to figure out the throttle returns back to idle and not where I set it..

NOW for a deep clean.. I gotta say, one of the coolest things about this Fergie is the starter on the stick..

1951-52 TO-30 If I figured tho SER # right?

Well done on getting it going again :)
I almost killed myself removing one back wheel of my TED20 ! I did check for fluid first , but only on one wheel . First one was empty , second wasn't . If the wheelbarrow I left near the tractor hadn't taken the brunt of it I would have :(

Thanks!! I ran her around a couple hrs today... Run out great!! Im just having a hard time figuring out the hitch hydraulics... It seems it only wants to go up... Wont go down.... Soon as you engage the lever by your left foot, up it goes... Regardless what position you put the lever by your right hip..

OHH I think I learned a lesson today... Dont try and fire it up on a weak battery.. (used the battery in another tractor for a bit today) I got a back fire and quite a large oil blast to the crotch (intake is on the dash)...

You should have seen me Charles... I had to put new brakes on my MF 175. Of course the brakes are in the axle housing and the wheels on the tractor have cast centers and 16.9x28 tires filled with fluid. They weight between 1,200 and 1,300lbs a piece and I had no way of picking them up either. Oh did I mention I had no help either? I finally took my TO-20 with a boom pole and wrapped a chain around the tire and wheel and picked up on it. Of course the front end on the Ferguson came off the ground and it couldn't pick the wheel up,but it was able to take enough pressure off of it to where I could get it manuvered into place to get the lug nuts started.

Jason , I really would have liked to see that , but maybe through parted fingers as I turned away in horror ! The things we do just to keep these old machines alive .
I won't remove a wheel without a pallet jack underneath now . A neighbour threw out an old model that has fixed forks very close together. They had been banned from use in factories due to stability problems . The fork spacing is ideal for a tractor tyre , the tyres sit upright without a problem and can be moved about easily, and better still lifted up to the lugs with little effort .
