Governor issues

My TO-30 under a load was not staying at speed - seemed like a governor issue. So started going through the steps - very carefully. Evidently not carefully enough. Anyone have any suggestions?

After searching the forum I found Inno's post on where to find threaded rods and rod ends that can be used to create the top of the governor rod. Now I just have to verify the dimensions and threads on the parts they connect to.

Thanks Inno.

No problem, that's why we all post here. I think that the shaft diameter should be the same but probably best to verify that.

Tony, I had everything researched and ready to order from McMaster when I got your message. Thought it would be worth a try, so I looked for a dealer I would trust around Decatur, TX. Not one here but there is one just outside Gainesville close to Lake Tawakoni - S & W Tractor Company. Called them and from the conversation figured it would be worth the 2 hour round trip. Sure enough it was. I wanted to buy the whole thing but they convinced me I only needed the top adapter that is threaded on the rod. It's amazing what you can learn spending a few minutes with a good parts man and a mechanic that works on these all the time. They gave me a user-id and password to use on the Agco website to look for parts - I didn't even ask for it. Anxious to see if it works.

Thanks for the info Tony.

The mechanic said they put the spring loaded quick connect adapters on when they replace these. That would sure make it easier to adjust. I think I may order a couple of them from McMaster and try them out. I buy everything in 2's these days since I have the TO20 and TO30.

Tony, did I read that you are moving to OK? If true, just whereabouts in OK are you? You might be close enough for me to just drag this thing up there so you can make sure I do it right. LOL!!

I am already a sooner.. or okie... depends...
