I have one with similar made shanks,
it is a cut down AC "field cultivator"
snap coupler hitch was cut off and a makeshift 3 pt hitch added.

did look up AC field cultivator and the picture showed a WD45 pulling one like mine and they called it a "field cultivator".

does a fine job of breaking up the soil

The same style cultivator was made and sold by several different companies. Some were heavy duty and some not so heavy duty. A few years ago I sold all my Allis-Chalmers equipment and a few months later I was cleaning up a patch of briars and brush and found a cultivator like that that I had forgotten about. It still has the long reach tongue for the snap coupler. I intend to remove the hitch parts and keep them and build a three point hitch for it so I can use it with my TO-30.

shade tree,

before you go to all that work,

when I got the old AC field cultivator from my friend at the scrap yard, yes someone had brought it in to be scraped, and he saved it.

I painted it up and posted that I had finally got a field cultivator,
one or two guy went nuts thinking I cut the snap couple hitch off the machine and welding on the 3 pt hitch, ruining a great, hard to find, piece of AC equipment. (of course I did not do it)

but the point is, there may be more value in the AC field cultivator with snap couple hitch in tack than you might think.

I would advertise it for sale and if you sell it, then look for one of these Ford Ferguson field cultivators with three point hitch. This is the type field cultivator I had been looking for, when my friend gave me the old AC unit.

picture attached. these units are out there you just have to look, and they have spring kickbacks to protect the machine and your tractor.

Wellmax99, Thanks for the reply. I had no idea if these cultivators were worth much or not. I had no intention of cutting on it anyway. Since it is all bolted together, it would be simple to just dismantle the hitch and put together a three point hitch and bolt it on. I am not one to hack away at something if I feel it may have some worth. But I will have to check out the possibilities of selling it like it is. It is complete, and it is a heavy piece, also. To tell the truth, I have been wondering if my TO-30 could handle it anyway.

I think in Oz it's called a 'bloody tyne ripper'... or 'sod n ripper'... that's funny too eh?
I had one just like wellmax's, Allis Chalmers X snap couple, it was too nice to cut up into a 3 point conversion, so I let it go with my last AC, to an orange 'consesuer...
I don't think Fergie ever made a tool bar as impressive and heavy as these solid steel 2x2's. I will bet that one was once a snap couple too, AC did business down under for many years.
If it's already yours, good on ya mate! If not, buy it. Who ever made it, it is far superior to perforated angle iron. You can just remove the spring tines (tynes?) and bolt on a seeder, spreader, tanks, middle busters, bob's yer uncle mate..

Thanks Fella's

Not mine yet tony. trying to buy a selection of gear and 2 mf 35s in a package deal, the 35s are not going, just deciding if i want more dead toys !!

tony,
this is what mine looked like the day I brought it home, minus the snap couple hitch.

I still have the two gauge wheels and two extra shovels in my metal scrap pile

one heavy machine for a little TO35 to pull, but it sure rips up the earth.
