Ferguson tractor id

I just bought my Grandfathers tractor. He passed away and I bought it from his estate, mom Aunt and Uncle. It's several hours away but my mother took a few pictures to help me I'd it.
It has a chrome shifter knob. What models have this type knob?
The coil is horizontal.
The oil fill spout is on the front left.
It looks to have a key on the dash top left side but unsure as the picture is blurry. Only have left side pictures
It is gas.
I don't know how to add pictures but could email or text them to anyone willing to help me, thanks, john

Click on the link and see if this may help you from the pictures. Ask relatives where the tractor is to go look on "TOP" of dash in front of steering wheel and back of hood if the serial number plate is there. If it is ask them to send the number such as TO XXXXXX or TE XXXXXX. Then look on the left column of this page where it says Research & Info below that it says serial numbers. Click on that to find the year. TO 20 numbers went from 1 to 60000. TO 30 went 60001 to 140000. The TE series went from 1 to 517561. Don't forget to let the forum know what you found out. Welcome to the best Ferguson forum on the www.

Ok this is what I think from the link.
It is a to-20 or 30 the picture looks like mine. The
big nut on mine on the transmission cover is in the 7
o'clock position just like the picture. Not the 8:30
position like the TE or TEA picture.
Now a head scratcher it has a chrome shifter knob
so that would be a TO 20
It also looks like it has an ignition key on the top left
of the dash. So that would make it a TO 30. HUM!
Need to call my cousin and look at the tag,

I also noted that on the engine cover it has 3holes back by the dash where an emblem used to be. In photos I've found that would be a TO-30. The photos of a TO -20 do not have an emblem in this location.
I've posted a photo, so what does everyone think I've bought? Thanks, John

There does not appear to be a "drop" at the bottom of the oil pan to hold an oil filter. It that is the case, it would be a TO30.

Okay I think you are calling the "hood" the engine cover. Those 3 holes on both sides of the hood is where Ferguson or Ferguson 30 emblems were to be installed. It is missing at least on the left side. That is nothing to have them missing on old Fergusons. Both the TO 20 and 30 should have had the emblems on the side of the hood and a smaller Ferguson emblem on the front of the hood. I suppose it may be possible that the early TO 20s did not have the side hood emblems. We will be able to see in August as serial number 1 Ferguson TO 20 will be at the Ferguson Expo at Baraboo, Wi. on August 21 and 22. Come to Baraboo, Wi. and see for your self.

The TO-20 hood emblems on the side are a thing of mystery. My conclusion was it was a supply and demand thing. If they had the emblems on hand during the TO-20 build they used them, if they didn't have them they were left off. I have two TO-20's both are 1951 models and they are only a few thousand tractors apart on serial number. The earlier one has the side emblems, the later one does not. No holes in the hood either or a place where they had been welded up and ground down. Both of those tractors have the hood latch that "supposedly according to other Ferguson Guru's!!!" was only used on early TO-20's. On the other hand I have never seen a TO-30 that did not have the emblems. On the above tractor look and see if the oil filter is on the right side of the motor. If it is then I would say it is a TO-30.

My two cents: The breather tube on the engine has less of a bend than a 20 and any other clues are too fuzzy. The oil pan looks about the same as my 30. Someone answer this for me: Is the key mount on the 20 flat or bumped out like the 30? This one seems to be bumped out.

The key switch for a TO-20 is under the dash on the left just like N series Fords.

Well tonight I'm gonna take a 2 hour plus ride to look at the tractor. Hopefully the ID tag will still be on the dash. I'll look at the motor plate as well. I'll take more pictures and see if the oil filter is on the right side.
I'll also take pictures of the implements there should be at least a plow and scraper bucket for the rear. Maybe a scraper blade.
Thanks for the help I will update more over the weekend, John

Ok so here is what I know now that I went to see it tonight.
It is a TO 30. Emblem on right side says so and external oil filter on the right side. Key on the top left of the dash and breather in the top right of the dash.
Serial number on the dash is TO 69614.
Cylinder block serial number is 1750339m91 continental motor.
It comes with ,
Dearborn 2 bottom plow, model 40, missing one disc behind plow.
Dirt scoop factory blue in color no tag, newer.
9 tine spring blade plow, 7-8 feet wide, no tag.
Single v row plow, no tag Syracuse SP83F cast into arm holding on plow blade.
6 ft. Scraper blade.
2 spare rear tires, rubber no good at all. Rim laying on ground did not inspect maybe ruined from laying on the ground, unsure.
1 front rim and tire, rubber no good, rim is just fine.
I made out great so far, thanks for all the help, pictures to follow!
What year is the tractor from the serial numbers? Can anyone help with that, thanks, John

I can tell you from the number you posted 1750339m91 that is a Massey number. It may of had a replacement engine installed at some point in time. Which could be a good thing.

On this forums tractor serial number registry I just saw a to 20 with the same engine number listed. What does this mean?
He has a replacement motor also?? It was a 1950
