A few items

Okay I have three topics,

1. I emailed Massey Ferguson aka Agco and they have no archived information earlier than 1990 when they acquired MF, so no serial number dating from them

2. Can I say that I love, or really like working on my Ferguson tractors and implements? I am currently bringing back to life a set of disc harrows that have been well used and the only nut I had a problem with is one one of the gang axles. All of the others came off with my ratchet or just a pull of the breaker bar to get them going and then ratcheted the rest of the way with zero breakage.

3. Implement paint. Were the Ferguson implements all Fergy grey or was some black mixed in on the cutting edges like plows discs, etc?

Thanks

Disk or cutting blades and plow wings were black. All implements were gray. I use Rustolem Smoke Gray for implements. You can buy it at Wal Mart.

Plow wings were black? I have the footage showing the assembled plows being dipped in a vat of Ferguson grey and then set aside to dry.

Thanks, I have seen the tractor numbers , but, I have not found a source for dating the implements.

Jason, Is the footage you spoke of on the internet or in your possession? I would like to see it.

If you watch the DVD of The Art of Ploughing, there is a video on there called Operation 100,000 and they go inside the factory showing the ploughs being built.
