Need help desperately

I am buying a Harry Ferguson Tractor. The person I am buying it from said it is a 1950. I am unsure how to find out from all of the different numbers on the tractor. I need to find a new PTO shaft. The number on the bracket for the PTO is TO 733. Please help me find a part. The number under the dip stick on the motor is Z129A600. The serial number plate is missing so it makes my search harder. Any help is appreciated.

A 'modern' replacement, 1 & 3/8" spline with a new bearing is less than 90 bucks on this site's online store. On top of the left column...

I have tried to order one but do not know what model it is. It seems that there are different bracket sizes for the different models. Several models fit one size and others do not????

Call the YT store on their toll free number. Not confusing. You need a 1&3/8 pto shaft for a Ferguson TO30..and get a manual.

That is strange. The part I ordered complete kit was for a TO 20, TO 30 and some Ford 8n 9n tractors. The mounting bracket is just a little bit to large to fit the hole for the mount. I am going to send it back to the dealer and see if I can get the right piece.

Mdavidson, is there a air intake screen on the far right side of the dash? Also would you send me the engine serial number? It will be on the plate under number three spark plug and it starts Z 129 then I would need the next 6 numbers. My email box is open. Thank you Richard

Yes, there is an air intake screen on the right side of the console. The numbers are Z129A600 that is all I remember seeing under the third sparkplug.

Mdavidson sometimes these tractors may have had a different motor installed for different reasons but I am assuming yours is the original engine as you have a TO 30 dash as well. That Z129A600 you mentioned is located on the engine block under the dipstick as you stated. When you are around the engine again on the tag below #3 spark plug the next to the bottom line will show Z129 then 6 numbers. Those numbers are what I would need to see if I can pinpoint the year of your tractor. The first TO 30 was built in 1951.

I will check that.

I looked all over the motor and there is no plate under the #3 spark plug. I see where one should be but it seems to have broken off.

(quoted from post at 15:18:47 06/19/15) So back to the original question... did you or did you not get a new pto shaft?
I am hoping so. I just ordered a PTO shaft from the YT web site. I thank all who have tried to help me with this. I am sure that there will be other questions to come.
