For me, putting the hood back on is a PIA! Anyone have any secrets? I've done it once by myself, but can't remember what I did. Wife helps until the yelling gets too loud.

done it myself lotsa times but now I get my son to help me.

doing it my self I would line up one side and put a screw driver in the bolt hole. then line the other side and bolt it on. have also used a bucket to rest the hood on.

I've always had to put mine on by myself. What I do is make sure the hood latch is pulled up before I try to put the hood on otherwise is will cause you problems. Then I stand at the grill and grab each side of the hood at the dog leg and pick it up and set it on the tractor. Then engage the latch slightly just so the hood can't move around too much and then I put the bolts in.

I think my hood might be sprung in just a little. The edges seem to catch on the radiator mounts. But it's been on and off at least three times so I know it will go on. I'll try the bucket. I have blocked it up, but the blocking gets a bit wobbly. I don't have a latch to hold it in place.

Get a designated cusser. That helps a lot. Usually a local ex-sailor or PBR mechanic can help with this.

Yeah, but see, you are trying to multi-task. You need an expert, someone who specializes in that while you work....

I guess it just takes patience. Took about 10 minutes to get it on and bolted in. No cussing or blue air required.
