I just bought this at an auction and thought I'd show it of. Its
the first 40 I've seen for sale so I got it. Its pretty straight,
runs good, has p/s and one new tire. Serial # sgm404348. Any idea
on the year?

I forgot the pics.

It is so refreshing to see an original Ferguson drawbar. Those seem to be pretty hard to find. In my opinion, they were a piece of fine engineering.

I like the drawbar. In fact I got lucky enough, I think, to buy a second one out of the scrap pile. I'm not sure what I'll use it for yet but it looked cool. I think the problem with them would be with a lot of tongue weight it wouldn't hold up as well as the more modern ones.

I believe that the drawbar was also well engineered, meaning that instead of brawn and being lots of low grade steel, Ferguson used a fine spring steel. I can remember seeing the drawbar flex but I never saw one get permanently bent.

Brendon, bring it to Baraboo, WI to the Ferguson Expo so we can all see it in person. You'll be a hit.

Funny it got no chin, but you got both grill screens.
In general, cept for the seat, it's all there eh?
There was just something about those decals that makes the world know it was never re painted huh?
Yeah, a clear coat on what's there would be cool yeah...
Where was it? what county? Lucky you Brendon!!

Tony, the seat is the awesome part. I think it predates the
floatomatic. I'm going to leave it unmolested. The real rough
ones deserve paint but this one is a survivor. I bought it in
Norfolk NY in st. Lawrence co. Within 10 min of picking it up it
was at the Madrid steam and power show. We wheeled in and asked
if we were pulling. My buddy said yeah were pulling your leg. We
got in for free. I like my diesels but this one runs lime a
sewing machine.

I would but commitments and NYS won't allow it. I'd love to have
it appreciated. Sometimes I think I'm the only one who gets it. I
hadddd to buy it.
