Compensator spring bracket

my 1948 Ferguson TE20 is missing the little "L" shaped bracket that the compensator spring hooks to, is there anyone on this forum who might have a spare?

or could someone take a pic or scan one with some basic measurements so I can fabricate one?

I have found the spring online but not the bracket

thanks,

Matt

This is the best I can come up with. The part# is TO 9803 and all I have is this picture. Hopefully someone can get a measurement off one they have on their tractor.

I think that there is a couple of those in my massey box. Will check when I go back to the shop shortly.

well, it just went from bad to worse, I finally got the front cover off to have a look at the governor, and the weighted parts are all missing, with some major wear on the nut that holds the camshaft gear on. I think I can get all the governor parts, but even worse is that the front cover and the lever that the governor pushes on have both been welded, and not very well by the looks of it. looks like I need a front cover. hi ho hi ho it's off to find a wrecker I go :-(

I have the little "L piece" but what does the other end of the spring hook to? Mine has never been hooked to anything.

There is a cotter pin in the water neck on the engine. That spring hooks into the head of that cotter pin. If you see just a hole in the water neck and no cotter pin then it has broken and fell out or somebody removed it. Just put a new one in and hook the spring to it.
