How to adjust pressure plate fingers on new clutch

I have a 51 TO30 and will be receiving my new clutch any day and want to make sure I adjust the pressure plate properly before putting back together.
 
I have a TO35 manual, says not to adjust the arms on a single disc clutch. Thinking yours will be the same. The only adjustment is external, on the arm the pedal clamps to. Want 3/4" freeplay between the top stop and the top of the arm.

thought I saw in the manual that you use some type gauge to measure height to get all 3 fingers exact height to make surface contact equal.

Yes, that is what you would want to do "if" they are adjustable. By the picture they are not adjustable, nothing there to adjust.

You can check them, try to lay a straight edge across them 2 at a time and measure each end of the straight edge to the engine flange, still not going to be very accurate...

I would bet they will come ready to go, just bolt it on and look it over for any thing abby-normal. Remember to bring the pressure plate cover bolts down one turn at a time as you work your way around the cover. Don't want to warp it!

Most important thing is to use an alignment tool. Or pull the front shaft, replace the seal, use the shaft to align it while it's out. If the disc is not perfectly aligned, you'll have a heck of a time getting the engine splined back in! If it doesn't align, wrestling it around, letting it hang, or worse yet, forcing it back with the bolts is a sure way to bend or damage the disc!

ounds good to me. I was hoping it wouldn't require me to have some special tool. I can see there adjustment set bolts on each finger that looks like you can increase or decrease pressure exerted on disc.
 
The tool he is speaking of is about 7 bucks plus shipping here. You use it to make sure the clutch is centered in the housing so it will mesh with
the transmission shaft a bit more easily.
 
as per my shop manual when they rebuild the clutch they use color-coded springs as per application.
It showes the freeplay from stop to be set at 3/16" on the clutch pedal.
