tractor shuts off

I have a 51 ferguson 30 , starts great, only after running for about 45 min the tractor shuts off, like out of gas, the temp gauge seams to work and is not near the overheating range.

I wait a few minutes tractor starts immediately but shuts off again in minutes, if I let it cool down it will run again for about 30 min before shutting down again.

I am guessing electrical issue but am not sure what to replace ?

Does anyone have this issue

thanks
Tom

Coil and condenser. Condenser is cheaper, start with that.
A couple years ago nearly everyone on this forum had a bad condenser, musta been sun spots and solar flares... the replacements all come from China, so this went on for awhile...

Could be the fuel tank cap is not vented or vent is stopped up. This will shut off the
fuel flow to carb, in a while tractor will start up as air is replaced in the tank.

Fuel cap must be vented!!!!

When motor stops, quickly remove fuel tank cap, listen for a rush of air into the tank.

At this point everything is on the table,

My old tractor would stop like yours, I replaced the coil and problem when away,

the other guy has already mention this as possible solution to your problem.

thanks for your help. I have ordered a few parts and will let you know what I find. I really enjoy my old Ferguson 30

My TO20 did that. It was the ignition switch. I thought it was fuel starvation at first, but when it started to sputter I jiggled the key and voila. After sitting outdoors for 65 years I guess the switch finally needed to be replaced. Just another possibility...
