steering box/air filter

Replaced the steering wheel on my 48 te20 today. While i was already working in the area i managed to get the seized fill plug out of the steering box. Would Corn Head grease be acceptable in here? The seals are not 100% anymore but I'm not going to replace them until I rebuild the engine in the fall.
Also, what weight oil is being used in the air filter?

I think corn head grease is one of the best lubes.
Have used it in a number of old leaking gearboxes, if you have almost no seals left you may still have some leakage, but I would try it. If it does not work then regular grease might be an option, but it might not lube the top bearing.

I use 30 weight oil in my air filter reservoir.

In my opinion use some corn head grease and some regular oil as the corn head grease will leave a void but the oil will continue to lubricate.
