TO 20 Oil Pump Question

Hello All,
I posted a couple of days ago about high oil pressure after my rebuild. I disassembled my relief valve and these are the parts that came out. The spring retainer looks quite a bit different than shown in the parts manual. It looks like someone used an old plunger for the retainer. My question is could this have been caused my problem? What should I use for a spring retainer. Thanks for the help.

You're saying it had 2 plungers in it? If so, no way that's right! And yes that would definitely cause high
oil pressure.

If you go back like the picture it should be good to go.

Wow!!! I am glad you pulled it apart. Like Steve said, I think, adding another washer will bring up the pressure if using an old spring but, it looks like someone forgot to remove the old plunger on that rebuild.

How is the pressure now?
