Front rims fitting tea20

Hi.

Anyone out there tell me if a set of front rims of a MF 165 ( tyres 7.50 x 16), will fit on a tea20.

I am looking for a pair of 4.5x16 rims, which these rims are, but not sure if this tyres size will go on without hitting anything as the tyre size i was looking for is 6 x 16, which comes on the fe35.

Cheers

Nay bloody worries mate, she'll be right.
About 3 times heavier than the ones you have now, and wider to the point it won't be as easy to steer, but finding replacement 4X16's out in the wopwops will take time...
I do like the look and feel of the 4 inchers, but on a mowed lawn, it is straight lines only, taking a little turn plows up the grass... ops...'ploughed'.... bloody yanks....

I am not on woopwoop ville, i am in wop ville. Maitland NSW

Yeah thats what i thought, according to bareco, most aussie tractors are fitted with the larger tyres, but there seems to be a lot of tractors out there that run these rims, So will keep a look out for a tyres size of 6 x16. As i recon these would be two heavy for the little fergie, espicallyocally with wheel weights :D

Not at all heavy for it, I have front weights on the 30 and 35 with 600x16's.... different handling, but no bother to the tractor or driver to speak of.
I think 600's were an option the early models, then 400's were the option in later years... always keep the customer happy eh?

Whoop Whoop , back of beyond and the other side of the Black Stump come to mind Tony :)

I have front wheel weights on the TED20 with 19'' wheel and 4 '' tyres and on the FE35 with 16'' wheels and 6'' tyres . I wouldn't be without them on either tractor . I have raised the front wheels on the TED many times with only light loads on the rear . The snappy clutch and a slight uphill grade is all you need for a heart in the mouth experience . That said I am fitting a loader to the 35 so the weights will have to go , my arms are not like Hulk Hogan's .

Blimey Charles... you got any film in your camera? I've never seen wheel weights on 19's here. I have 2 or 3 sets for 16 inchers myself.
So.... at the loss of a C note... I had the pairs of 4x19's filled with solid rubber. Yea they say 'foam filled'... but it's not squishy foam once it dries.
I am not as concerned with 'puncture hazzards' as I am being too light in the front. You and pcp are in the wopwops, me, miner and several others are on 'the lone prairie'.
Nether's a place to have a horse or a tractor do rodeo tricks while you're still on it...

No trouble Tony .
Front wheel weights for 19" wheels on a TED20 . Single piece cast iron construction , three mount holes and bolts with wedge shaped washers , weigh 45 kg each [ aprox. 100 lbs]

Nice i like the photos. Those weights charles are the same as the wheels on the tea20 that i discovered last sept that i got going, thats when i discovered this forum .

I could still chuck good wheelies even with those weights on!

I am still checking out the many stories and colours of fergie grey,

Charles what paint did you use on your ted20?

If u like, it would be good to see some more photos of it to check out the colour.

cheers Chaps

Warning PCP ! Run , run fast and run hard , you have raised the poison question of the '' right colour '' , you will need to be prepared to listen to everyone's theory of what is right now .

I got it wrong , the colour of this tractor is Stoneleigh Grey , much too dark , in my early eagerness I actually believed the parts supplier [ wrong ] . I thought the lighter grey of Australian TE20s was due to fading by our harsh sun.
The closest you will get to a real Fergie grey is a Dulux colur called Pewter , available from Bunnings in spray and 1 and 4 litre tins .

Ha, Everyone is welcome to chim in, but i asked you :D

I have read some of the posts on here re the colour.

But seems we do not have the colour pallete of the US and UK. So mate I am bolting down the street as fast as i can

Yeah stonliegh grey seems to dark, looking at a colour chart, but yours actually does not look to dark. I sprayed the bonnet of one tea20 with Kill rust pewter which someone here suggested, i recon it looked a bit green.
Wouls be good to see some pix of one painted in vintage grey, which MF website says is the right colour.

come On Tony. What colour is yours... it looks like a good grey, haha

PS. We have had major flooding this week. Thought my tractor might have floated away, but where its parked is on high ground of low lying land, So all good but will not be able to get there for a while

Rustoleum smoke grey. Even painted the trim of the brick house white Rustoleum.
Yeah I thought the near white fergies were sun bleached, but as you remove stuff that uncovers factory paint from the 40's and 50's..... awful pale for never seeing daylight...ever??
Pewter sounds like a good description of the silvery fergies I remember seeing decades ago... some thoughts on here were that dealer's were repainting trade ins with the MF stone or flint they had on the shelf.... sounds plausible.... already have 2 TO-30's, needed to point out the difference of the UK 20, that's why I painted my TEA with all the old discount store aluminum and silver spray cans we had stashed away since the sixies.... right or wrong, I kinda like it!

Funnily enough, my front wheel weights are the two piece, half moon shaped. The rims have four bolt holes in lieu of three. The wheels are
the ones that were on the tractor when I bought it. I wouldn't part with them now either, since the tractor seems to drive so much better
with them on, plus it's no harder than no weights at all on the front suspension parts, since all the weight is on the tires and not the
tractor. I will have to go get a pic....

Nothing wrong with those...shades of grey....??
I see your 19 inchers don't have the 3 bolt holes for the one piece weights- nether do mine.
Ya no... if you want it to run better... you might want to put the manifold back on...

Mainifold, whats that ! I ll google it

Arrr thats why its running like a dog..... you SH^% stirrer

Those 19" rims are shot, rusted to buggery

19 inch wheels were always drilled for weights by the dealer or owner Tony , the wheels were never available ex factory pre drilled . The 16 inch wheels were drilled with four holes for the two piece weights , as far as I know the 19 inch weights were always one piece . Both are really hard to fit , at least the 19's can be fitted with the wheel off the tractor , the 16's overlap the hub so they are mounted while the wheel is on the tractor or the bearing nut is removed and the whole lot has to come off :(
Either way it isn't a job to do often.

Ha Charles. You look like your in suburbia, do you go out doing laps on a friday nite round town in the fergie ....

I have more than a few acres to play farmer on in S.E. Gippy PCP .
Seen here after the last bush fires we went through .

Yep them rolling hills, Gippsland is nice green rolling hills, i use to live on the other side of the bay in Torquay. More for surf than rolling hills

Drill holes? Not me mate. On the 16's, if you can finagle it, one half can wiggle in back of the hub from the bottom, bolt it loose, then roll the tractor 180... helps to have a friend with muscles around, if only for 30 seconds each piece.
I reckon I remember places in Australia that looked like that- Blue mountains? What in Australia that is engrained in my memory for ever is the topless beaches..... some weren't very hilly at all, non of em were green, but very nice scenery just the same....ooooooohhhh...
