I have my fathers F40, when he painted it years ago the data plate now is t on the dash, so I don't have a serial number. That being said it needs a new clutch. The clutch has a tension ring instead of springs if that makes sense. I am having trouble finding a clutch that would fit. Any help in locating or determine the right clutch

Go to agcopartsbook.com. Click on guest user and look at the parts manual for a Massey Harris 50.

Sparex shows the clutch to be #S40712--should be a 9"--1 3/4--10 splines. (899823M91) If you tractor center grill has the protruding nut on the top it's a 57. If nut is on right side it's a 56. Hope this helps. Picture is a 56.
