This is the second spring I have had water in oil! It ran fine all last year after changing oil and cleaning out the water and put Bars radiator stop leak in; but again this spring I have water in oil (a lot of water)? But no oil in radiator; (course I haven't ran it yet to see if any oil is in radiator)??? I keep anti freeze in for the winter and kept engine wrapped with a tarp but stayed out side under a tree! Any and all help will be appreciated! Thanks Gene in Louisiana! Sorry for long post!

Best case is leaking cylinder o rings, worst case is cracked block (which is repairable). Oil in water generally means blown head gasket but the other way means water/antifreeze is draining from the block.

Remove the oil pan and with a good light look at the webbing between the cylinders. Some cracks are hairline others are very obvious. If you see water around the bottom of the sleeves that would be bad o rings.

You didn't say what model tractor you have. The TO30 is prone to cracking, I know I have three of them.

Let us know what you find.

I once had a TO-20 that I bars leak would hold fine until I put anti freeze in it. turned out the block was cracked. top and bottom.

Outside under a tree? Is the shifter boot or boots (depending on which model you have) cracked or worn out? Water enters the transmission around the gear shift boot as well as getting in around the seal on the back spring for the draft control. You covered the engine but not the two parts where water can enter the transmission.

e isn't talking about the transmission oil.
