Can the tap on these be rebuilt? It wont close properly anymore, I tried tightening the nut that compresses the leather packing around the valve shaft but it has no effect. I tried to remove the valve but it didnt seem to want to come out...
Then I removed the nut and tried tapping on the valves circular "handle" with a hammer to remove it but it wasnt budging. Should I just hit harder and try to get it out or is it even worth bothering with, ie can it be fixed?
