Novi Governor Installation TO 20

Hello All,
I am in the process of rebuilding a TO 20 engine. I noticed that it said somewhere to install the novi governor with the tab in the 8 oclock position. I did install it this way but after installing timing cover and moving motor around on the stand it is no longer in the 8 oclock position. I was wondering if this in important or not. I don't want to remove timing cover again if I don't have to. Thanks for any replies.

I would think it engine is in time and governor was at 8 o'clock turning engine on stand would not change anything.

You must mean it slipped on account of gravity or jostling? Then go back to block being straight up, make sure the tab is back at 8 o'clock when putting the cover back on, or the lever won't press on anything once together. No governing action to the throttle linkages.
Like miner is saying, if Mickey Mouse is pointing to your left knuckles, it is quarter after 3 no matter where you arm is pointing....
