was reassembling hydraulic pump and various bits- small snap ring decided to fall apart. any idea where to get one to fit this item? Saw a previous post that had a parts list for hydraulic pumop and this snap ring had a #13 by it. If I can get a snap ring I am thing a little spot weld might work.
any advice is appreciated

A standard snap ring for that size should work. Local hardware store? FYI the control valve agitator is not a mandatory item for the pump.

I wonder if a Mig spot weld on that part might be the best long-term solution?
The circlips are ultrafine-thin and mine broke as I was trying to gently pry it out.
I think if I put a small drop of weld on it I could use a dremel tool in future to separate if needed.
what do you think?

There seems to be some thrust pressure put on the circlip in operation so I doubt that the weld will help , especially since the clips are spring steel . The old one lasted until now , a new one should last just as long . Not every pump had this oscillating strip , it was fitted to later pumps to try to stop the control valve from sticking .

Thanks Charles. I try it without the agitator if I can't find a c clip tomorrow. so close to getting back together just in time for getting our garden ready.

Patience is a virtue Great Oak , I don't have a lot myself so I can empathise with you but I wouldn't try this . The agitator is there for a purpose , the pump will work without it but will inevitably stick the same as all the others built without it do .
A circlip to fit is so commonly available that I would be surprised if you can't find one in the first bearing shop you go to . If the new ones are too thick try sanding them down on some wet and dry paper based on plate glass or a flat steel plate .

problem solved. Northern tool has cir clips

now to remember how the side pto engage lever was hooked up.....:)

The part you are holding is the control valve. It is needed. The long rod portion sticking toward the lens is not mandatory.
