Can you mix GL-1 transmission oil with 15/W 40 in To -20

If you have some of each of the oils:

you might pour one oil in to a clear breaker

Then pour the other oil on top of it

Hopefully there may be a slight different color so
you can see if they mix.

Stir the oils together and let the mixture set a
couple of days to see if they separate.

However,
If the GL-1 oil has been in the sump for a number of
years, it needs to be drained out anyway, then pour
in your 15w40 oil.

The main thing is to insure you do not have water in
the bottom of the sump where the hydraulic pump
lives.
