TO-35 wiring colour code

The wiring is ratty on my TO-35 and tonight I had a little mishap and "dislodged" couple of wires, so it's time to clean up at least some of the mess.
So I got the pdf of the wiring diagram from the FENA site, good. Here is my question: does anyone know if the colours of the wires listed there are actually right? Seems odd that the wires connecting to both the B and F terminals of the regulator are the same colour. Also note the wires going to terminals A and B of the ignition switch are both grey, but they head off to different things. It would sure be easy to mix them up...which is why we normally use [i:c35acfa032]different[/i:c35acfa032] colours right?
And, the colour of the wire going from the ignition switch to the coil is not shown.
So anyway if anyone knows the actual colours I'd like to replicate those. For now my main concern is the generator, regulator, ignition switch, and starter switch area. Well I guess there isn't much else is there?
Thanks,
Jim

Looked at the diagram and I see what you are talking about. Are you doing a 100 point restoration of this tractor where judges are going to scrutinize authenticity and originality? If not I would make the necessary color changes in the wiring harness to suit my needs, I did on my TO35 Diesel. Harness was a major mess nothing worked. Changed to an Alternator, added lights and switches for my external devices. I.E. 12V broadcast sprayer and a seed spreader is the next device.

In fact I still have the generator if someone is looking for one for a 1960 Ferguson.

No, I just thought if a correct diagram was available and I followed it (I have loads of wire with all kinds of colour codes left over from restoring a British car), it would be handy down the road. I guess it's simple enough I could just do it some reasonable way and make my own wiring diagram. But that would be one more version...I think I [i:6b02994c51]won't[/i:6b02994c51] put it on the net.
You'd really think with how many of these tractors are out there, that it would be easy to find this info. After posting this, I went back and hunted some more and it seems to be nowhere to be found.

I found the same thing when I made the wiring harness for my TO35. Improvise, adapt and overcome. I made my own drawings for my harness with the wire colors I used. I over sized the wire in a number of areas to lessen any voltage drops. One area of major concern for me was the wire going to the glow plugs, in fact when I decide to do a rebuild of the engine I will probably add a relay and a timer for that. I also want to add an hour meter on it, the trip for the hour meter will be from the alternator.

DrLoch are there any numbers on that generator? If so would you please let me know? My mail box is open. Thank you Richard

jim, send me an email address I can contact you at. My mail box is open at least on the classic view it is.
