Can anyone tell me what the correct numbers for a F 40 generator should be on the tag? Did the 1956 & 1957 use the same number?

Richard this is what my manual has to say, i'll check on the one on my tractor. also, trying to get your package done this week.

1948jr, according to the date on yours the way I am reading it yours shows it was made May 18 of 1956. I appreciate the reply however I do not feel that is an original gen. for that tractor. But this is the type of info that can help get us to the correct number. Thank you. Richard

willowbk, is your manual for a 1956 or 1957? So it sounds as maybe both years used the same gen. number
I checked mine this noon and mine does not even have a tag on the gen. Not much help that way. I was wondering about the package. Thank you.

Richard, not 100 percent sure but sometimes the generator is hard stamped from D/R. A little hard to find but maybe someone can varify if they all are stamped.

Thank you for that information. I will have to wait until spring to check it out as it is all tucked away for winter.

Richard, My Hi 40, which I feel is very original has a D-R Gen with the Model #1100998 and Serial # 5L-26. My second 40 does not have a tag but is hard stamped 9096 and under that a diamond about 3/8" long with an <A> stamped in the center and 12 V next to that. No other stampings are legible.

Sorry, it's late. My Hi 40 is a '56.
