TO20 Charging Light

My TO20 charging light will not go off-just started. I will start by polorizing the regulator-the tractor is still 6v, pos. ground. Question, which termanals do I cross to polorize? Thanks, you guys are great mechanics.

To polarize it, jump the A terminal to the negative (non grounded) battery terminal. Only touch it, just enough to see a spark.

If that doesn't fix it, open the cover on the regulator, see if the cut out contacts are stuck or the spring has come off.

Then comes the old philosophy that if you change the
reg. th genny will die. Or replace the genny and the
reg will fail. Thusly the tradition was started when
replacing one, do the other at the same time.
As this is not a car or truck and considering the
expense of parts and the lack of quality, I would
tend to do them one at a time. The genny might be
best redone by a local builder of honorable
reputation and an open wallet.
