I recently bought a 1954 TEF20 which has the Standard diesel engine. It runs well. It is missing some of the cold starting equipment. It has the pre heater control glow plug in the intake manifold which works well. Missing is the Kigass pump and Kigass tank which sprays atomized fuel into another port above the glow plug.

Does anyone have a picture of this unit that they can post or email me.

Also where can I buy this unit?

Andy

I've posted a few picture of the tractor. I hope the link works.

I found an old kigas system on e-bay. My TEF did not have it. This system works perfectly even with a small leak. But honestly, with my engine completly new, it is not necessary to use it above 0° celsius

Andy, As you probably know, Kigass cold starting equipment for TEF's is no longer manufactured. Your best bet is to contact tractor breakers. If you are in the U.K. e-mail me and I'll give you a few useful contact numbers. You could also advertise on the FOFH web site.
Peter.

The manual I have does not show a picture of the pump but makes reference to it. The principle behind it is straightforward - to spray a fuel mixture into the manifold where the glow plug is to give a warm starting mixture. I'll search around for a used one.

Do you know where there might be a picture of one on another tractor?

I have managed to find a ki-gass pump for my '53 tractor, but it leaks !! The little square cross-section 'O' ring on the piston has perished and gone. Can anyone tell me where to find such an 'O' ring..... .... I've explored every supplier I know without success.

Thanks

I found a good article on the Ki-Gass system on a French site: perso.wanadoo.fr/richardleroy/MF835DS/KiGass.htm

Gentlemen, to the dictionaries!
