TO-35 standpipe is the same on either end? looks it to me anyway.

hopefully tomorrow after church and getting Christmas trees my son and SIL will help with getting the top cover back on. then we fire up the tractor and keep our fingers crossed.

has anyone ever found a way to pour "clean" from a five gallon bucket of oil? I have taken the lid off before and dipped oil with a large clean coffee can but there has to be a better way.

thanks.

Have poured in the top while it is off but not all off it leave below the side access holes so you can attach the leaver to the pump!

This is where old gas station equipment come in handy. The filler hole is nearly 2 inches? So a huge funnel with a spout any smaller than that is a time saver. Picking up and trying to pour a five gallon pail is an accident or mess waiting to happen, so I pour about 2 gallons a time into a plastic pail, and in the same amount of time the job 'might' get done without incident-like wearing it? But I have a big galvanized gas station funnel that everyone doing this sort of work got to have around- even using it once every other year, it still pays for itself.

Big funnel and turn the pail so the spout is at the top or poke a vent hole in the pail. That should keep the oil from gurgling. The standpipe is the same either way.

I use stirrup pumps for fuel and oil . A larger bore pump is better and quicker for oil though just about any one will work for both .
Never spill or waste a drop of either this way , easy to refurbish as well , most have either leather or fibre washers and seals that are the same size as standard plumbing .

I pour into a one gallon container outside the shop which is secured and has funnel into the top. Then fill it one gallon at a time that way.
