Wanted to get some input on this tag,it came off a f40 high crop I have with a wide front end. I never really looked close at the tag. Well today I noticed an R stamped underneath the C. It seems the C came after the R due to seeing overlap. I know the R stands for twin wheel and C high crop. Im assuming just an error at factory? Any thoughts?

Probably Monday morning and not fully awake yet!Font and size looks right,I would say it was a factory error.

Like a rare double stamped coin or double stamped postal stamp it may be worth some big bucks.
and then again not.

Apparently the tractors of that era came from some rather loose run factories. Not that the quality wasn't there, just not a lot of attention to appearance.

In today's market, we've grown accustomed to seeing more emphasis on appearance than what's under the skin!

Not too often we get to see a true, untouched factory original. But the few I've seen, and the pictures I've looked at show the paint, sheetmetal, decals, etc. were not what we would call "perfect".

So when doing a restoration, aren't we somewhat deviating from original when we attempt to achieve perfection! LOL
