breaking in overhauled engine in the winter

I have just overhauled a Massey Ferguson 203 with the Perkins engine, but do not have a dyno. Normally I work the tractor in the field to break in the engine after an overhaul. What is the best option to do so when the ground is frozen and -10 wind chill? I will not be using the tractor till next spring so should I leave it set till I can work it?
Thanks

If you wanted to start it, you could put a heavy load on a trailer and pull with it for a couple of hours to get it running. I have a lot of hills here so it gets a good changing of load.

I would go ahead and get it running now. That way if there is a problem, you can deal with it now instead of when you need it to be running.

Also if there was any outside work done, the warranty is running!
