I have a 51 to30 that is low on fluid so i was going to go ahead and change since I had to add. Was going to use the 90 weight tractor fluid. Is this the best thing to use located in North Carolina. I was going to drain old oil and then add new is there any thing else I should do.

I'm in east tn and I use the 90 weight GL-1 in mine. I just let the tractor warm up for a few minutes in the winter time when I use it. If you are going to use it a lot in the cold and don't want to wait a few minutes for it to warm up then use 10w30. It's your call on that one. Drive it around and let the fluid warm up before you drain it.

I bought my GL-1 90 weight mineral oil at NAPA

they may have to order it, but they carry it in one gallon and 5 gallon containers.

takes a long time for the old oil to drain out in the winter time. would be nice to let it drain out in a heated garage.

I used my TO-35 to push some snow this morning. temp was 33 degrees and it took about 30 min. for the lift to react like in summer time. I was in no hurry so it didn't matter. Oh yeah I use the 90 weight oil.

Drain all three holes. Don't overfill. Put in 5 gallons and let it sit awhile and check level before adding any more. I'd drain at least overnight, and let it sit at least an hour after filling part way.
