12 volt alternator

I just converted my To20 to a 12 volt alternator! my question is; will it do any harm to let the tractor set outside and get the alternator wet till I can build a shed for the tractor? Thanks Gene

Well, I am not going to say no it won't be a problem, but, I
have had an alternator on my TO 30 for a few years now with
no problem and she never spends anytime under cover.

That being said it never hurts to put things under cover to
protect them just in case.

Without questioning the alternator, as long as it is going to be outside is your gear shifter boot and the lift seal spring under the seat in great shape? Those are the two places water can get into the hydraulic oil and cause problems. If possible a tarp with four cement blocks on the corners could possibly keep everything from getting damaged. Of course if you get winds like we had yesterday I don't think the tarp would have stayed on any way. Get the shed built in a hurry.

Sounds as someone KNOWS how to bungee strap correctly. I would need some lessons if I did not have a shelter.

usually just two straps at front and rear of tractor. key to it is making sure straps are tight.

I would think the key to it is making sure you have a GOOD tarp and not one of these light weight plastic things.

i think these tractor will hold up to severe weather without a cover and still preform normal, but over time it will need maintained, however if you cover it will last longer
