Questions about a Ferguson TO-35

New to this forum!!I am rebuilding a tractor (TO-
35) for a friend and I am confused. Tractor is a
1958 gas (# 178429), and the owner's manual states
it uses a 12 volt battery. In another publication
a 6 volt system is listed. Which is the correct
battery? Thank you

The 1954 and 1955 used the 6 volt generator up until serial number 161250 then the rest of 1955 and there after they were all 12 volt.
