That's a nice 35. Fenders are the same front to back so someone must have installed an original left side toolbox fender on the right side of yours. Nice that its not rusted out. The forward facing bosses on the left axle half I have seen used to mount a battery tray in pictures of Diesel Ferguson's in England I think. Can't remember which engine was used that needed the battery relocated. I'll have to look through my books and see if I can find where I saw that...

Dan is correct ...the mounting on the left axle are for a battery tray for an extra battery on the 23c engined tractors.

No reason why it shouldn't be. My 1961 MF35 Perkins has those mounting points on the left trumpet as well.

I would guess the normal tires in the rear should be 12.4 x 28, and not the 13.6 tires you have now. Maybe the 13.6 is put on to reduce pressure on the ground.

The Fergusons / MF with diesel engine got two 6 volt batteries instead of one, that counts for the TEF 20, the FE 35 with diesel, the MF 35, both 23C and A3-152 Perkins engine, and the MF 65 Mk I from UK also two 6 volt batteries. For the 65 it was room under the hood for both batteries, but on the 35 which had a shorter hood, only one battery would fit there, while the other was placed on a bracket in front of the left axle housing, where the 4 reinforcement studs sticks out. The Ferguson TEF 20 had the same reinfocement studs on the right axle housing too, since it was no place under the hood for any of the batteries.

Did the US MF 35 ever come with power steering as an option ? The 135 did, but that is another animal.
