sediment bowl

I have an original sediment bowl (180 097 M1) that has stripped treads going to the carb. Is there any way to repair these threads, or does anyone know where I can find an original one? I have tried all the salvage yards that I am aware of. I am restoring an MHF 202 work bull which is kind of rare and would like to keep it as much original as
possible.
Thank you.

A 202, workbull, is an industrial version of a TO35. The bowls are the same, You probably can't repair the cast aluminum threads, so just get a new assembly, the YT store has them.

Tony,
I know I can get a new assembly, but I am a little on the crazy side and try to get every nut and bolt the same size as original so would like to get an original sediment bowl with the proper
casting numbers.

Any chance of a picture of the damage?

Maybe you could machine off the old threaded section and create an insert to totally replace the threaded part? Anything is possible to repair with enough time and $$ :D

I just checked my 3 stripped out units and yeah one
of mine has the large lettering and matches yours
except its stripped and also has the top sawed off
but the good news is it came off a 56 or 57 to35 or
maybe my 50 but they should be pretty common, good
luck.

I know your post is old but I have a very clean original 180 097 M1 sediment bowl that works perfectly and does not have striped threads. The only thing you will need is a new bowl gasket which sells for $2.50 on this website. It is originally off a 1957 MF 50 and has the lettering MHF on the side opposite the part number. I can send pictures upon your reply. PM me if you are interested.
