f 40 rear end mystery

hey guys, I tried this a few years back with no luck, but maybe things have changed. I have a high crop f40rear end with an odd part number stamping. I have 2 others and they match each other but not this one. I've tried my local dealer and they cant even find the part number.
Everything seems to be the same except this rear end has a yellow(industrial) base coat on it. Any input would be great

I can't get out to look or take pictures right now, but I think those are MF casting codes from the late 60's early 70's- is this the tranny case? I think my 2135 ends in 'M1'... or is it an 'MI' as in Massey Industrial??? Post this pic on the Massey forum, some of those guys never look over here.

M1 is on most MF parts as suffix, M2, M3 etc are updates of the original part. M91, M92 etc are used on assemblies. X1 usually is the hardware suffix. At least that is what I learned at the MF dealer I worked for years ago. Not sure how Rustoleum does theirs though.....

That looks to be a later replaced housing. My TO-35 (1956) and my dad's F 40 '57 tricycle have "HF" on them near the casting numbers, assuming for harry ferguson. What part are you looking for? Try looking under parts books for an MF 135 era tractor

What part of the tractor is this # from? Been on the parts site, found nothing so far on 135 and industrial 40 parts list. Sometimes the casting #s are not part #s though.

it is the rear end housing that the trumpets/rear axles attach to. I have searched almost all of the older models with not much luck. I was hoping maybe some one might have the same numbers. My main concern is what the gearing might be, it is a high crop.

The gearing change if any will be in the transmission, input and countershaft drive gears. The diff ring and pinion tooth count were all the same in any given model tractor if I remember correctly. Some models the diff can be flipped over too, but not the 20, 30, 35, 50, and 65.
