TO-30 Water Pump Change

I have to change a water pump. Manual says to remove the fan after draining the radiator. Doesn't look to be a lot of room around the cowl. Anyone have any pointers? Looks like the pump is pretty easy.

Probably not the best way but I'd take hood off(2 bolts) then radiator. This way it's easy to get to pump and make sure everything's right. It's just my way of during things to make it the easiest.

Take off the hood, drain radiator, loosen generator, remove fan bolts and fan, remove water pump. The radiator can be removed by loosening one bolt and removing the other and pull a cotter pin off the top linkage and remove hoses.

That will give plenty of room to work on pump and clean old gasket material off.

That was my thought too for ease. I had to remove the hood when I got the radiator fixed a couple of years ago. Just hoped there was an easier way. Thanks.
