Have a TO20. The water jackets are mucked up and I would like to clean it up before I install my new radiator. I have been running water through the gooseneck and the water has cleared somewhat. But after it sets awhile with water in the water jackets and I run new water it is very rusty for a few seconds.

What can I use to clean it up..........cant start it with out a radiator. Some one said vinegar ?????????
Appreciate your help.

I just went looking around and saw a link to evapo-rust seems
like this may work for you. I think you will have to run an old
radiator or a bypass hose to circulate through the engine.

I'm here to say that nothing short of pulling the head off will clean everything out of the water jacket areas. You may have some luck with a garden hose and nozzel, unhook the radiator top and bottom, or remove completly for easy access, shoot the water both directions. Sediment was over an inch deep around the sleeves in my TO 20 when I pulled it apart. Just saying.
