carb settings

Seems I've seen the settings for the mixture screws for the carb for a starting point. Putting on a new rebuilt on my TE 20.

Thanks to all

Take screw driver and screw air(small on side) down and then 1/4 turn open, large(gas) about 1 1/2 turns open is where I start. Then fine turn it. All tractors may be a little different, I even seen some where the air is turned all the way down.

The Ferguson shop manual says 7/8 turn for the idle mix screw and 1 1/4 for the main needle

my understanding is the screws adjust fuel not really air so keep that in mind when turning the screws

Remember the main jet adjust fuel. Screwing it out increase main jet fuel flow and enriches mixture. Idle mixture screw adjusts idle airflow. So screwing it out leans the mixture.
