Thank you for the kind words. I used Rustoluim flat red oxide primer...in the gallon can, I can't make out the number since its painted over right where the info is. The color coat/ coats, is Vansickle super premium Gloss Ferguson Gray #47671 in the gallon can also. I added Omni MP175 epoxy primer catalist with Omni MH 202 HG hardner into just the color coats, probably only used about a pint of paint. Mixed 3 parts paint to 1 part of Acetone, mixed well, then added the hardner and catalist, mixed well again, then sprayed with a Sunx SK-70 gun at about 50 psi. I started with a lean light coat, and increased the paint each time- nearly wide open on the 4th and final coat.

I should add; I washed it down with a high pressure washer and a toilet brush first, then did the body work, sanding to bare metal, washed and scrubed again,then...wiped everything down with acetone. Then sprayed the primer, waited 3 hours, then wiped it down with acetone again, then sprayed the color coats//inside and outside both, but not the same day.

Thanks for the info. I hope you didn't use a used toilet brush. I'd like to see the fenders when you're done if you would be so kind. I'm thinking of going with automotive paint (NAPA Martin Seynour)as my Fergy lives outside.

I think it was about $110 total for the gallon of primer/color/ acetone...and I had the hardner left over. I have had pretty good results with color fastness with this paint (if) you add the hardner, not so much without it. I also try to put on a coat of automotive wax at least once per year...usually after it gets washed the one time per year...LOL All my tractors are working tractors, parked in the shed when not being used.

I have to agree with you Tony, I have used this red oxide Rustouim primer on lots of equipment and I really like it. I think it rivals the epoxi primer almost, and certainly costs much less.

Well, Hello Larry, Tell the miss's I said hello to her also. Thank you for the compliment. I also need to edit my post about the paint, I forgot that I also purchased one gallon of Ford- High Gloss Red - VanSickel for the total of the cost listed earlier. I did'nt get to the fenders today...ended up working on the pickup truck.
