Since the day I bought my TO30 the throttle has never been right.
After I did a full rebuild of the entire engine system of the tractor I
could not get the throttle right following the service manual. I
finally figured it out. This is my first Ferguson mind you. The
throttle was backwards some how. Down was Idle and forward was
full throttle. After a lot of head scratching I finally figured it out.
The guy I bought it from said he rebuilt the carb. I also rebuilt it but
I left the throttle control the way it was. He had rebuilt it but he put
a Ford Throttle control on and drilled out the ball post. I had no
idea that a Ford throttle on the same carb is on the bottom and
Ferguson is on the top. It now makes sense why the throttle was
backwards and never worked properly. I should know tomorrow If it
works with the correct throttle arm in the carb. It is always the little
things that can screw you up.
