Is there a fuel filter on the inlet? I don't see anything so don't know if it never had one or the previous owner didn't reinstall one. I have fuel to the carb, but thought I'd ask the easy before removing the carb and taking it apart.

If you remove the brass elbow on the side of the carb where your fuel line screws into, there should be a screen on the end of the elbow.

On my to35 carb, there is a filter screen at the end of the fuel line elbow.

Unscrew the elbow and check it out.

Yes there is. As previously stated remove the brass inlet elbow and it should be there. If not they are available at tractor supply if needed right away or also here.

Thanks for the information. I'll try that tomorrow. I have fuel to the carb, but it runs out of gas and quits. Sometimes for a few minutes; other times a couple of minutes. Hope it's just a filter. I'm not looking forward to pulling the carb and rebuilding. Fortunately, I have a BIL that can fix most anything. Thanks for the replies.

Might also check when it runs out of fuel:
Take the gas tank cap loose and listen for air rushing in, someone could have installed a non vented gas cap or the vented cap could have gotten stopped up.

Causing a vacuum on your fuel line.

Good luck,

Ah!!! just had the same problem. Check your fuel filter/glass bowl assembly for contamination in the tank. If you take the fuel line off the carb and turn on the fuel shut off it should run free and strong, if not you may have junk in the fuel tank that needs to be addressed.

Now if the fuel supply is good then you may have a bad float setting/valve which would mean a rebuild on the carb. Mot a hard job.

I had the newer tank liner in my tank seperating and sludging up my fuel line.
